Well a big hello to everyone looking in on our Web Site, please feel free to have a look round, we are only a small club but well formed.
What can I tell you about Medway, well we have been around since May 1995 and for some Ten plus years I have been at the helm. In that time we have been doing quite nicely, racing every week apart from one or two week during Christmas & the odd holiday. Our membership base has always been around 20 to 30 members, so we are not the biggest club around, although have seen great successes over the years.
For over ten years we have hosted a BRCA 1:12th Oval Nationals each year and have been awarded a number of BRCA Open meetings as well (British & English Opens). Also within this time we were at the head of organising a Winter Series for the Southeast, and getting many clubs involved.
During the time of the club many member have participated in the BRCA National Series, travelling around the country racing at many different venues and clubs. Again during the time of the club some of the members have taken things a little more serious and been part of the BRCA 1:12th Oval National Committee, holding a number of posts such as: Publicity Officer; Scrutineer; Secretary and Chairman (I am currently Chairman of the Section and been there in this role since 2003).
As you will see from else where within this web site, we race every Tuesday and racing starts at 19:30 and generally finishes around 21:30.
We race the Mardave V12 and Ministox in mixed heats, which are meant to be non-contact, although on an Oval I think there will always be a bit of contact.
From time to time we change things and we race Bangers, Ascars, Trailer & Caravan racing, just to name a few. The good thing about what we do, is that the base car stays the same, but with a different body shell and some of the race rules changed, thus keeping the cost down.
We have our own spares shop (for Mardave spares), so should anything break, you will be able to get going for the next race. We also normally have kits in stock, should you have trouble getting hold of them.
